Project Overview
TOverview: A Framer template designed to showcase retreats through rich visuals, CMS-powered pages, booking flows, and elegant theming.
My Role: Sole designer, developer, and project lead
Timeline: ~2 months of continuous iteration
Tools Used: Framer, Figma visuals
Challenge: Design a standout visual and functional template that meets Framer’s high-quality standards in a competitive niche
Research & Inspiration
Conducted competitive analysis on top travel and luxury retreat websites (e.g., boutique resorts, Airbnb Luxe, wellness brands).
Identified key traits: immersive visuals, storytelling-rich flow, consistent grids, refined interactions.
Used feedback directly from Framer and trusted creators to guide iteration.
Referenced UX design guidance on hierarchy, spacing, and interactive polish
Iterative Design Process
Audit Round 1: Identified weak sections, poor typography usage, and lack of visual consistency.
Phase 2 Redesign: Introduced new fonts, spacing system, grid rules, and updated hierarchy.
Visual Enhancements: Added full‑screen hero image with appear effect, customized “What You’ll Experience” component.
Dark Mode Integration: Built system-toggle support; refined colors, contrast, and cards for both modes.
Feedback Loops: Sourced peer feedback and multiple review submissions.
Final Touches: Added hover states, testimonials grid, FAQ, service clarity, and booking CTA flows.
Impact & Feedback
Community Feedback: Shared with established Framer designers who confirmed it felt “marketplace-ready.”
Skill Growth: Deepened understanding of visual hierarchy, mode theming, responsive design, and UX polish.
Learnings
What I Learned:
Feedback is only useful if review consistency allows acknowledgement of progress
Typography system and spacing were key barriers to quality perception
Visual components (Animations, cards, hover animations) elevate perception significantly
